HP ALLIANCE MEETING - Friday Aug 15, 4:30pm

If you are interested in helping with social causes in the name of Harry Potter, then come on out. Some of the work this organization has already done includes - setting up voter registration tables at wizard rock shows, pettitioning the UN to end genocide in Darfur, and raising money for charities and other social causes. WIZARD ROCK FESTIVAL - Friday Aug 15, 6-10pm

Wrock out wizard style! Wtich rockers Romilda Vane & the Chocolate Cauldrons, Fred & George: the Band, and Snidget are stopping here on their Post-Terminus Tour. Also appearing are Hawthorn & Holly, The Purebloods, and our own Blibbering Humdingers will be performing. Admission is free. Bring lots of cash to buy CDs and merch from all our visiting performers. RUTH'S GAME NIGHT! - Most Saturdays at 6pm (except Aug 8)

Join us to partake in boardgames and card games with new friends. The theme is historical and fantasy games, though we may occasionally stray from that. Appropriate for adults and kids 12 and older. Some games we might play include Guillotine, Munchkin and Pirate's Cove

HARRY POTTER RE-READERS CLUB & WIZARDS OF THE TRIANGLE- Most Tuesdays, 6:45pm

We meet twice a month to re-hash the books together a few chapters at a time, talk about what they mean to us, compare the books to the movies, play games, share news, and geek-out over Harry Potter together.

LIFE AFTER HARRY BOOK CLUB - Aug 19 7-8pm

Get together with other recovering Harry Potter fans to find new books that may appeal to you. August's book is yet to be announced. Please contact Ruth at the store for details.

COSTUMED SKETCH NIGHT - Wed July 30, Aug 27 7pm - Themes to be announced

What happens when costumers and cosplayers get mixed in with art school? You get Costumed Sketch Night! If you're an artist, bring your drawing supplies and we'll supply costumed models. Cost is $3. CENTRAL NC PAGAN PRIDE DAY FESTIVAL - Sat Sep 20

Once again, we'll have a booth set up at this Fairgrounds event. For those of you who have not attended before, it is very family friendly. The day is full of workshops, music, and fun for people interested in earth-based spirituality. More information at: http://www.ncpaganpride.org/

BAGGINSES BIRTHDAY BASH - Sun Sep 21, 5-9pm

Join us on the anniversary of the birthdays of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins for Lord of the Rings style fun! We'll have a costume contest, open filking,hobbit dancing, mathom exchange, games, movies, snacks, drinks, etc. BYOM (bring your own mead). Admission is $5 and a mathom if you wish to participate in the gift exchange. Tickets will be available for purchase Sep 1. We only have room for about 60 people.

What is a mathom?
A mathom is basically a birthday present whose use has been forgotten. Oftentimes hobbits will pass old presents to new recipients. We suggest you dig some old, weird, useless thing out of the back of your closet and wrap it up. We'll do the gift exchange "white oliphaunt" style - where we each draw numbers and pick gifts randomly from the pile. The next person gets to either take a gift from someone else or choose one that has yet been opened.

SOCIETY FOR CREATIVE ANACHRONISM- Most Thursdays, 7:30pm

The local chapter of this Medieval/Renaissance re-creation group will be having business meetings at our store during the summer. If you've ever wanted to learn more about the SCA, this would be your chance. More about the local chapter at http://elvegast.org.

HOGWARTS HALLOWEEN! - Oct 26 5-9pm at Tir na Nog, Raleigh

Once again, we are teaming up with Tir na Nog Irish Pub in downtown Raleigh to bring you a fantastic evening of wizardly fun! There'll be a special menu, butterbeer available, costume contest, music by Hawthorn & Holly, the Blibbering Humdingers, and others. Fortune tellers, games and more! Additional Details forthcoming.

Chainmail Classes

Local chainmail artist Cat Hallett teaches classes by appointment. If interested, contact cat@camelot-treasures.com . Cost is $7 plus $3 for supplies. Please bring 2 pairs of needle-nosed pliers with you.
